# How to Generate a CSR and Private Key Using Plesk Panel

You can easily create a customized CSR (Certificate Signing Request) and private key using Plesk. Just provide some basic information about your domain to a certification authority, and they'll issue a certificate for you.

### **How to Generate a CSR and Private Key in Plesk**

- Log in to your Plesk account.
- Navigate to **Websites & Domains**.
- Click on **SSL/TLS Certificates**.

- To generate your CSR and private key, start by logging into your Plesk account and navigating to **Websites & Domains**. Then, click on **SSL/TLS Certificates** and select **Add SSL/TLS Certificate**. In the **Certificate Name** field, enter a name for your SSL certificate, and fill in the required details in the form as shown in the screenshot. - Scroll down to view the generated CSR and Private Key. They will appear in the respective fields, looking something like this:

You can choose the **Self-Signed** option to verify your site's identity, but it’s not recommended. Self-signed certificates are not trusted by most browsers, which can cause users to question the legitimacy of your website and potentially avoid it.
