You can easily create a customized CSR (Certificate Signing Request) and private key using Plesk. Just provide some basic information about your domain to a certification authority, and they’ll issue a certificate for you.
How to Generate a CSR and Private Key in Plesk #
- Log in to your Plesk account.
- Navigate to Websites & Domains.
- Click on SSL/TLS Certificates.
- Click on Advanced Settings.
- Click on Add SSL/TLS Certificate to start creating a new certificate request.
- To generate your CSR and private key, start by logging into your Plesk account and navigating to Websites & Domains. Then, click on SSL/TLS Certificates and select Add SSL/TLS Certificate. In the Certificate Name field, enter a name for your SSL certificate, and fill in the required details in the form as shown in the screenshot. Once you’ve completed the form, click Request to generate your CSR and private key.
- Click on your SSL certificate.
- Scroll down to view the generated CSR and Private Key. They will appear in the respective fields, looking something like this:
You can choose the Self-Signed option to verify your site’s identity, but it’s not recommended. Self-signed certificates are not trusted by most browsers, which can cause users to question the legitimacy of your website and potentially avoid it.
